From clothing to cars, Italian are often at the forefront of inspiring world design, so it’s always exciting to see two Italian brands from different sectors come together on a project. Inaugurating a series of collaborations that celebrate Maserati’s centenary, the carmaker has joined forces with menswear label Ermenegildo Zegna on a Quattroporte sedan.
Limited to just 100 models, the Quattroporte is inspired by Zegna collections and even takes its color, trim and fabric from the suitmaker, a practice which will be extended to multiple Maserati models starting in 2015. Just like a Zegna suit, the Maserati Quattroporte will incorporate wool made in the historic Lanificio Zegno mill in Trivero, Italy. Outfitted with additional Zegna accessories each car meets the needs of a growing demand for customization and personalization in the auto industry. We’ll be waiting to see what tailor-made projects these two premier Italian luxury companies come up with next as part of their three-year agreement.
