We often read articles about the experiments with 3D printers, but we never expected to see jewels printed in 3D. Created by Italian designers Giorgio Biscaro and Odoardo Fioravanti for Maison 203, My Best Friend (MYBF) is an amazing collection of 3D rings and earrings with fine lines similar to the shapes of traditional precious stones.
Made of nylon and metal, the collection is produced using 3D printing technology and offers a series of accessories with architectural silhouettes, many of which have a textured gradient finish . The inspiration for the collection comes from far away; Biscaro’s Pineapple Earrings recall the form of spiral-cut pineapples from Tahiti, while Fioravanti’s Sydney ring is reminiscent of the Opera House. As 3D printing becomes more accessible, the MYBF jewelry collection is the perfect example of how it can be used to create elegant and wearable design.
