Have you ever wondered if our attention span is a bit too short when it comes to natural disasters? Enter cult labels Boglioli and Kolor.
Aside from having obsessive followings the two brands seem to have little in common. Boglioli uses traditional fine Italian tailoring to craft jackets and coats from high-quality wool and cotton. Japanese design label Kolor is very conceptual and builds pieces with a clean but deconstructed Asian avant-garde aesthetic.
Before the Japanese earthquake hit, the two fashion brands were already in the first stages of an intriguing collaboration. After the quake the unexpected partners turned the project into a fundraising opportunity. The result is an ultra-exclusive limited edition (only 600 pieces will be distributed worldwide) capsule-collection featuring two cotton and cashmere jackets.
All proceeds will go to Save the Children Japan. Given that the jacket’s price tag is €798, the charity should be able to keep up its good work. While it’s currently available for pre-order, the collection will be released at the end of November, so start saving!
