Whatever you want to call it – sofa, couch, canapé, ottoman – normally it conjures up images of cushy comfort for your backside. Maurizio Galante went in the opposite direction and chose uncomfortable associations when he reinterpreted sitting solutions for Cerruti Baleri. The prickly spines of a cactus don’t exactly make most people want to sit. Luckily, the canap and ottoman stools have ironic cacti that won’t hurt – the 3D images are actually photographs printed on an elastic cover.
Both pieces have a polyeurothane body with a wooden base. The sofa measures 84.3″l x 53.1″d x 20″/37.8″h and the stools 17.1″ x 19.1″
