From the clatter of loose change to the whisper of a stack of new bills to a cash register’s CHA-CHING, most people love the sound of money. Thanks to young Italian designer Marcella Foschi even a lonely penny in your wallet will bring not just sound, but also music to your ears.
I’m one of those people who likes how easy it is to share music digitally, but really really misses mix-tapes. Foschi’s environmentally friendly re-purposed and colorful cassettes feed my nostalgia and let me find change in my bag when I need it. Each wallet is handmade from an Italian cassette. They sold out when they debuted at Tokyo Designboom Mart and they’re selling out again. Each wallet is a unique one-off so when they’re gone, they’re gone!
