With its Crumpled Sky Map, Italian design group Palomar invites dreamers to stare into the starry night and identify constellations. The inspiration for this new project comes from a line Italian author Italo Calvino’s Palomar, “When it is a beautiful starry night Mr. Palomar says, “I must go and look at the stars.” That is exactly what he says – ‘I must’ – because he hates waste and believes it is wrong to waste the great quantity of stars that is put at his disposal.”
The map, which can be opened and closed in just 2 seconds, features all the constellations and the main stars that are visible on a clear and starry night. This innovative soft map is super-resistant and 100% waterproof. It is printed in glow-in-the-dark-ink and it should be ironed at a low temperature. The twinkle in the sky has always had the ability to fascinate us, but now you can you can have it at your fingertips. Feel free to crumple it!
