It’s incredible just how far creativity is advancing the DIY movement.  Born from the collaboration of three young designers with the National Museum of Science and Technology in Milan, the Giacinto loudspeaker is a perfectly working speaker that you can build with your own hands.
Along with Chinese designer Ge Yanming, Italians Ludovica Vando and Lorenzo Appiani have blended their different professional backgrounds to bring out the best in creative do-it-yourself design. With a cardboard body that also functions as instructions and as packaging, the Giacinto loudspeaker produces no waste and is incredibly easy to build. Thanks to interchangeable filters made from sound-absorbing materials like cork, Giacinto allows for analogic instead of digital sound modulation. This means that not only can you build your own speaker, but you can also play an active role in adjusting the sound levels.
