Behind the label
You know that the Made in Italy label means quality and craftsmanship, but do you know how it’s made? Miami-based shoe brand Del Toro goes behind the scenes in their factory on Italy’s Adriatic Coast to show exactly how a product is crafted under the Italian mark of authenticity.
Narrated by Matthew Chevallard, Co-founder and President of Del Toro, the video clip takes us on a hand crafted journey from “flat fabric to functional footwear.” As the anonymous fabric material is manipulated, it gradually transforms into Del Toro’s signature velvet Prince Albert Slipper. While the shoe has an updated dapper look that belies its construction, ultimately it’s clear that the production process involves traditional craftsmanship and attention to detail. The video is a great peek at the practices that make the Hand Made in Italy label such a respected guarantor of quality.
