If you want make an amazing product you’ve got to work hard, maybe so hard that you’ll sweat blood and tears. That’s exactly the kind of effort put into the silkscreen-patterned T-shirts and shorts made by Italian fashion brand Roba di Sangue.
Inspired by the southern Italian landscape of hometown of Grottaglie, Angelo Milano takes images and patterns directly from his surroundings to create striking apparel. The stone walls, tile floors cloudy skies, and weathered wood buildings are hand-screened onto t-shirts and shorts in a studio that the self-taught Angelo put together from used equipment. The finished products have a photo-realistic touch that lets them seamlessly blend into the background from which they were taken.
No matter how you describe Roba di Sangue - chameleon clothing, site-specific style, Italian inspiration – the quality and impact of the resulting collection definitely lives up to the blood, sweat and tears put into making it.
