The Homeless Design Project challenges designers to develop great products that use minimal resources, but lots of creativity, and can be sold at a minimal cost. Can you believe that the Micol lamp by Milan-based Italian designer Cristiano Mino is made from a single concrete brick, a few pieces of wood and a sheet of recycled plastic?
This impressive piece of smart design was on display at Milan Design Week 2012 where it won first prize in the 2012 Homeless Design Competition awarded by the Campana Brothers and the Vitra Design Museum. Now the Micol lamp is on sale in both table and floor versions, which means that we too can bring home some seriously smart Italian design.
