Now in its sixth season the collaboration between Italian design house Missoni and Converse shows no sign of slowing down. The latest collection, the Missoni Converse Archive Project, really is more of a project than just a product. Two popular Converse models, the Pro Leather and Auckland Racer models are rebuilt in patterns from the Missoni archive, and yet still proudly show the iconic Converse one star logo.
With color combinations and patterns last used in the 90s, the dead stock Missoni fabric transforms the classic casual style of the shoes into fun retro footwear. This time around a unique site-specific art installation by London-based Gary Card will mark the exclusive nature of the limited one-off 20 shoe collection. With Italian patterns, American shoes, a British artist and a Paris fashion week debut, this has to be the most international Missoni-Converse project yet.
