The Record Watch was originally conceived in 2000 by Italian design legend Achille Castiglioni as an easy to read, but still visually playful timepiece. This year’s chronograph version keeps the bright colors, sharp graphics and simple interface that made the original such a success, but adds a stopwatch and date display to the dial artwork designed by Swiss graphic designer Max Huber.
As one of the last projects Castiglioni worked on, the Record Watch is the perfect example of the legendary architect and industrial designer’s minimalist aesthetic. The black and white watch face is mounted on a stainless steel case with mineral glass lens. The watch straps, available in yellow, purple, black, and brown, can be completely removed from the case without the use of tools. Three chronograph dials for recording hours, minutes and seconds are set in the watch face .
