If you love Italian design it makes sense to grab yourself a design totem. The latest installment in Karim Rashid’s Symbolik collection for Italian ceramic design house Bitossi Ceramiche celebrates six magic elements of contemporary design: velocity, modularity, phenomena, love and soul.
As a tribute to iconic design, the six new pieces presented at the Milan Salone del mobile 2012, are each inspired by the totems that Ettore Sotsass originally designed for Bitossi Ceramiche’s 50th anniversary. Each object is made of white ceramic glazed in six matte pastel colors and also functions as a candlestick or paper weight. It’s the perfect example of classic Made in Italy excellence elevated through a contemporary point of view.
