Antonio Pitagora is one of the newest italian designers to enter the world of t-shirts with AntPitagora, a collection that features images of door knockers. His take on this staple of every man and woman’s closet is unexpected, yet also reminiscent of the ornate Greek and Roman inspiration of designers such as Versace and Bvlgari.
Antonio’s surname might show his noble descent from Magna Grecia, but he can also boast a contemporary fashion pedigree thanks to his work with major Italian designers such as Dolce & Gabbana, Valentino, Fendi and Lancetti. While traveling he became fascinated with the ornate door knockers that adorn houses around the world. After capturing these intricate sculptures in photographs, he started to turn them into prints which he uses as the design for his unique t-shirts. The final product celebrates the increasingly rare art of traditional blacksmithing through high-end t-shirts for men and women.
