When our friend Antonella gave us the pictures she’s taken at the Salone del Mobile 2013 we immediately drawn to a patterned table that seemed to be composed of multiple materials. It turns out that we had just fallen in love with the Fishbone Table designed by Patricia Urquiola for Italian brand Moroso.
While the Fishbone table might look like it is inlaid with materials from marble and enamel to horn and mother-of-pearl, but the herringbone pattern is crafted from the synthetic material Alycrite. Available in three different pastel shades, the tables have small variations in their patterns, the same way natural materials would. Designed to accompany Urquiola’s M.a.s.s.a.s. seating series for Moroso, the Fishbone Table incorporates a modern aesthetic and contemporary material to create a truly unique design that won Best Trend category in the Wallpaper*Design Awards 2013. It’s no wonder that we fell in love at first sight.
